Collection: Staircase Components (Construction)

When it comes to staircases, there are three main components: treads, risers, and stringers.

The staircase tread is the horizontal part of a staircase that you step on. Typically, treads are the most prominent and visible feature of a staircase and can be constructed from various materials.

A staircase riser is the vertical part of a staircase that separates each tread. It can also be referred to as a riser main.

A staircase stringer is a board used to support the treads and risers of a staircase, alternatively called "stringer boards" or "strings".
